When reading your peotic blog post it reminds me of Henry Van Dyke's "Home Sweet Home" :
I read within a poet's book
A word that starred the page,
"Stone walls do not a prison make,
Nor iron bars a cage."
This is true, and something more :
You'll find wherever you roam,
That marble floors and gilded walls
can never make a home.
But every house where love abides
and friendship is guest,
Is surely home, and home, sweet home,
FOR THERE YOUR HEART CAN REST.
I recall once a lady whom I once admired but too timid to "chase" told me this: Once she was cycling in front in the small lane surrounded by rubber trees and I happened to be going in the same direction at a discreet distance . I was having a sweet daydream until she came to a junction and then she turned into another lane.I of course had to go straight so as not to appear to follow her. Lter, she was hoping that I would be following her and even waited for some time not far from the junction. But I was to know until she told me many years later giving out a sigh that she lost my sight as if losing her heart.... .
