走在马路旁铺满落英残瓣的人行道上,看到清洁工人正在打扫洒落满地的花瓣,不禁想起《红楼梦》里多愁善感的黛玉“葬花”。抬头望见那一片盛开的风铃花的粉红色花海,又想起了闻名世界的东瀛樱花,年年花开时节,不知吸引了多少各国游客前往观赏。想到樱花,常好“胡思乱想”的我,脑海中又浮现我那失联已整整四十五年的异国老笔友的影子;往日的笑貌话语,仿佛就在眼前。
忽发“怀旧”幽思,老夫又涂了篇小品《莫道久别不相思》;在部落格上发表时,加了个《一对木头人,半个世纪情》的副题;因为我把笔友在上世纪六十年代初送给我的一对木雕人,也拍成图片摆在我文章的前头了。文末有这样的几句话:“‘人生何处不相逢,相逢有如在梦中。’虽然我们没有非见面不可的理由,也未曾想到要成为台湾轰动一时的《海角七号》的另一版本;但若藉今天发达的网络,有机会在空中向你问个安、道声好;那不但是个天大的奇迹,又何尝不是‘他乡遇故知’的人生一大乐事?”
应该是读到上述拙作,有好心的网友(猜想极可能来自樱花国),特地为我上网搜集亚矢子的资料,还不厌其烦地设法邮寄到诗巫《诗华日报》社转交给我;古道热肠,实在令人感动得很!本人素以“骂人”(友人言)出名,很少干那“拍马屁”的鸟事;就当今的世道人心言,我却不能不说,如此热心助人的“陌生人”实已属凤毛麟角,难找得很了。
本人在 Face Book 网站恰好也注册有一个户口,却很少用,而我又自夸有“先见之明”,出现在那里的亚矢子一定多是些年轻的小妮子;要想找到一个年逾花甲的女网民,恐有“大海捞针”之叹,难矣哉!不过我当然也不错过“碰碰运气”的机会,结果还是失望而归。我今年正在念初中一的外孙女,比我更早拥有她个人的博客。在一篇文章里,她提到全家人都在写博客,包括公公在内!有好几个网友在留言上写道:“Ha,就连公公也写博客?几岁了?”由此可见,我们这些写博客的老年人似乎已成了“异类”了?(上 Face Book的自然也不例外。)你说这是“褒”还是“贬”?一笑可也!
热心人不但寄来了许多与我老笔友同名者的资料,还附上好几篇中、英文的剪报与网上文章,其中一篇以英文书写,谈论人的“青春”的网上文章,尤为我所欣赏。自觉好文章不应闭门独享,便把它再贴上网与众共赏,希望不会有“侵权”之嫌吧?文中对人的“青春”(年龄上的、精神心理上的)有相当精辟的阐述,也与华人“人老心不老”的说法,很有“异曲同工”之妙。对于拙作《活到老,学到老》中所提到的,那些整天喜欢谈生论死的“三等”老年人来说;富有启发性,绝对可供参考。
我的一篇怀旧的“抒怀”之作,竟引出古道热肠之士把它当“正经事”来办;不但是我,如果亚矢子知道了,相信也会很感激的。为了我们的芝麻私事而如此操心,我们也只能再向素未谋面的好心人,说声衷心的感谢了。
“天涯何处无芳草”,相助何必曾相识?只不过,茫茫人海;除君之外,能有几人?

When you recall some friends of the past, especially those whom you have never met before and who came to you completely strangers but somehow they have immediately treated you with sincerity and frankness as if very old friends. This is especially so when they are of other nationality. So we trust that peoples of the world are of nature brothers and sisters though from different cultures and domiciles.Provided not misled by evil political gangsters and racists etc, why can't we reach out to one another.

In 1948 he travelled to China and began to study in Peking University for 3 years .....
After he retired in 1984, he wrote a brilliant series of essays in the form of letters to a grandchild, Letters from
